Indications for Use
For preoperative skin preparation of surgical sites, vascular access insertion sites (including central venous catheters), puncture sites, and other invasive procedure skin antisepsis. Provides rapid bacterial kill and persistent antimicrobial activity for up to 7 days, significantly reducing the risk of healthcare-associated surgical site infections and catheter-related bloodstream infections.
Directions for Use
- Tear open the sterile packaging, remove the applicator, and avoid touching the sponge head to non-sterile surfaces.
- Apply firm, gentle pressure to the skin with the sponge head, using side-to-side sweeping motions to fully cover the target disinfection area.
- Maintain continuous application to ensure the skin is fully saturated with antiseptic solution.
- Allow the treated area to air dry completely (do not fan, wipe, or blow dry) before proceeding with the procedure. Do not cover the area until fully dry.
Warnings & Precautions
- For external topical use only. Do not use in or around the eyes, ears, mucous membranes, open wounds, or broken skin.
- Contraindicated for patients with known hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine gluconate, isopropyl alcohol, or any other ingredients in this product.
- Highly flammable liquid and vapor. Keep away from open flames, heat sources, sparks, and all ignition sources during use and storage.
- Do not use with electrocautery procedures until the solution is completely dry and all flammable vapors have dissipated.
- Keep out of reach of children. If accidental ingestion or severe skin irritation occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
- Single use only. Do not reprocess, reuse, or re-sterilize. Discard after single use to prevent cross-contamination.
- Do not use if the sterile package is torn, punctured, or damaged. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package.
